Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 was a scheduled international passenger flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur that crashed on 17 July 2014. The plane is believed to have been shot down with a Buk surface-to-air missile. The Boeing 777 went down near Hrabove, Ukraine, about 40 km from the Ukraine–Russia border, killing all 283 passengers and 15 crew on board. The crash occurred in the conflict zone of the ongoing Donbass insurgency, in an area controlled by the Donbass People’s Militia. The crash was Malaysia Airlines’ worst incident and its second of the year, after the disappearance of Flight 370 on 8 March, en route to Beijing from Kuala Lumpur. Let us pray for the victims and their families:

Dear God. I pray for all the victims and their families. Grant them comfort in the hour of their grief. Grant them peace of mind and a confident heart that you are always there in every crisis of life. Wrap your loving tender arms around the families. Comfort and strengthen them during this tragedy. We thank you for your loving kindness and for touching each and every person who is affected by this event. We thank you for showing up in their lives. In the name of Jesus
I pray that everyone touched by this plane crash will find peace in the mist of these painful times.
In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears. Amen
