On June 30, 2013, our regular Sunday Service was moved outside to take place in our peaceful cemetery surrounded by our dearly departed loved ones. The weather cooperated and it was a beautiful, sunny day. There were approximately 60 people in attendance at the lovely outdoor celebration presided by Rev. Tadeusz Czelen, Pastor of St. Mary’s Parish. After the Mass, Fr Czelen made special visits to bless the gravesites of the loved ones of the people who were present at the Mass as well as those of our brothers and sisters in Perpetual Care.
This outdoor Mass is a special time for us to come together in our shared grief to mourn our loved ones and to celebrate their memory. It is truly a communal celebration and people linger after the liturgy to share their lives and stories with each other.
It was a faith-filled time for honouring our deceased family and friends. We encourage you to join us next year and share in this great opportunity for consolation and community.
A very special thank you to all who helped to make the Cemetery Mass such a wonderful celebration.
Thank you to group of parishioner who helped cut the grass and cleaning our parish cemetery. Especially: Robert Szkolnicki, Ted Maciurzynski, Frankie and Maggie Domiter, Helena Wolejszo, Elaine Van den Busche, Vicky Czelen and anyone we may have missed.
