For many years St. Mary’s Parish has maintained a relationship with the The Royal Canadian Legion, Polish Canadian Branch 246. Several times a year, we organize various religious and patriotic ceremonies to commemorate important historical events. On November 6, 2011, we commemorated Remembrance Day in Canada and Independence Day in Poland. After the Mass, Poppies were spread to commemorate and honour the members of the Legion whom have past away in the past two years. This practice is commonly referred to as “The Last Post”.
